Files & Storage.

Files & Storage

The Files area in Dorah keeps every document, drawing, and reference exactly where it belongs.
It’s your calm archive — a place where information supports the creative process instead of cluttering it.

Understanding Project Files

Each Dorah project includes a Project Files section in the sidebar.
It functions as a central library for everything that supports your work but doesn’t sit within a specific Category Board.

You might store:

  • Yard drawings or GA plans

  • Specification manuals and certificates

  • Supplier catalogues or brand guides

  • Spreadsheets and quotations

  • Crew or client handover documents

Think of Project Files as the connective tissue of your project — accessible, organised, and separate from the creative visuals.

Adding & Organising Files

  1. Open your project and go to Project Files in the sidebar.

  2. Click Upload File or drag and drop from your desktop.

  3. Add a clear title and short description if helpful.

  4. Assign a folder or sub-folder for logical grouping.

You can create as many folders as needed — for example Drawings, Certificates, Supplier Quotes, Invoices.

Category-Level Files

When a document relates to a specific area (for instance, Guest Cabin 2), upload it directly to that Category Board instead of the main Files section.

This keeps content contextually linked and easy to find. Please note clients also see the category board file manager.

Linking External Resources

If you work with cloud tools like Dropbox, SharePoint, or Pinterest, add them as Deep Links in your sidebar.
These appear under Quick Links for seamless movement to a new tab.

Best Practice

  • Keep file names simple and consistent (e.g. SupplierName_ItemType_Date).

  • Group documents logically by phase or supplier.

  • Remove obsolete versions to maintain clarity.

  • Upload certificates and manuals promptly after delivery.

  • Use Deep Links for large shared libraries to save space for example Sharepoint, Dropbox, etc

In Practice

Files & Storage in Dorah keeps every supporting document aligned with the creative flow.
From initial drawings to final certificates, everything stays easy to locate, beautifully ordered, and quietly under control.
